pacha –  ‘Pachamama or Pacha is the conceptual construct that links humans and the universe. Pacha means universe, and cosmos, origin or precedence, and it also means both time and place. It symbolizes the creative forces of nature and it is honored collectively during a diversity of occasions related to the agrarian cycle and communities’ social life. pachacuti – We live in a time of the fulfillment of an ancient Inca prophecy. parasympathetic –  the parasympathetic system is concerned with the conservation and restoration of energy rather than energy expenditure.  This system stimulates gastrointestinal movements, lowers blood pressure and slows heart rate, and empties bladder and bowels.  The primary neurotransmitter is acetylcholine.  Antagonism of two systems:  norepinephrine liberated by sympathetic dilates pupils, acetylcholine liberated by parasympathetic constricts pupils.  An opthalamist can dilate pupils by either stimulating norepinephrine receptors or blocking acetylcholine receptors. Parasympathetic acetylcholine is critical for erection of the penis and clitoris, but sympathetic norepinephrine is required for ejaculation.

performative contradiction – Before he can proceed with developing his theory, Wilber needs to rehabilitate the concept of hierarchy, a concept central to his theory and that of many other evolutionary researchers. Hierarchy has become somewhat of a dirty word in some circles and critics claim that all hierarchy necessitates ranking or dominating that oppresses, marginalizes or destroys. It is not uncommon to hear that we need to do away with all hierarchies. However, as Wilber points out, this is not only impossible but an example of what philosophers call ‘performative contradiction’ since the preference for nonhierarchies over hierarchies is itself a hierarchical value judgment. politics ~   . .  there is a fundamental tone of resistance in the usual political discourse.  For what you resist persists (resistance feeds, gives energy to, the potential you don’t want). .  When you have a very strong stance against anything you are really voting for that thing.  In contrast, your acceptance that that is their reality, will reflect back to them what they need to do to change the circumstances they do not like.   The challenge for anyone encountering a hard political agenda is acceptance. .  Big challenge to get past energy of resistance because a lot of energy has been put into something. . Noticing our own resistance to listening to things we don’t agree with, the tension, facing that with acceptance. .  in otherwords focus less on the consequences of what you don’t agree with and more on the reaction in your body. . It is true that it is important to create balance and unification between races, genders, etc.. and the fundamental truth that we are all one is part of the equation, and the truth that there is trauma from oppressions is actually imbued in genetic material itself. .  understanding this paradoxical truth will help both sides. .  can’t use the argument that we are all one to deny struggle in places.  . and cannot use the struggle to deny that beyond all concepts, all are the one energy. . the dance between realizing your individual expression and your expression as spirit will bring the greatest degree of change.   Energy of love is more powerful than fear.  So much so that when people come together in love, the fear that is around has to segregate itself, has to  break up, fear does not unify people, it divides.  When you stay present in love and hold love for those people ~ can do the ho’nponopono ~ can help us hold a space of love for such people, to  dissolve the fear.   When you are relaxed everything will work out because it is hard to have an argument with people who are relaxed.  ~ Dante’s Pleiadians

pratikpaksha bhavanam – I shall begin this story with words you never want to hear: I had the weirdest dream last night….But here goes: George W. Bush was President of the United States. (You may not want to hear those words either). It was September 12, 2001. He stood before the gashed earth that was the Twin Towers and made the world wide proclamation: “This is a GREAT opportunity for love. We shall exemplify the Christian principles-the principles of all great spiritual traditions and employ compassion. We shall love our enemies. We shall love our Muslim brothers and share in our injured humanity. This event will be the beginning of the healing.” And then he began singing the Youngblood’s song, “Come on people now, smile on your brother. Everybody get together, try and love one another right now.” BIZARRE! I KNOW!! But then the dream continued to unfold as the reverberations of these words were made manifest. The earth literally blossomed. I will not go into grisly detail about the flowers and rainbows and hand holding and singing. Hunger was a thing of the past and the word “war” was a fiction! And there was more. Much more. Now it’s possible that in one of the other dimensions this has taken place. But whatever. We’re sharing certain aspects of a dimension right now that does not include George W. singing “Come on People Now.”\ What my sleeping mind was doing is called in yoga parlance pratikpaksha bhavanam, or cultivating the opposite state of mind. purification –  There is nothing in the human soul that comes entirely from the higher self or the lower self, because everything mixes constantly.  Purification means to separate, understand, and rearrange in conscious understanding all these various trends, thus purifying the basic good trends from all masks of self-deception and from influences caused by character weaknesses.  The higher self in you says, ‘I want to be perfect.  I know this is the will of God.’  But it is the ignorance of the lower self that makes you think perfection can be attained by turning away from your imperfections and disregarding them.  It is also the lower self that always wants to have everything so comfortable.  The lower self wants to be in a high position, but for different reasons than the higher self.  Your higher self seeks to advance for the love of God by way of recognition and enlightenment, aware that only when you are perfect will you be truly capable of loving your fellow creatures.  But your lower self wants to be perfect in order to have more ego-gratification and to swell its head, to be admired.  All of you, without exception, also feel this way.  Here is an example where both the higher and the lower self want the same thing, but their motives are entirely different.  It is of utmost importance for the purification of your personality and for the sake of a healthy and harmonious soul to separate these motives and to recognize their voices. – http://www3.sympatico.ca/roddy.duchesne/lecture_25.htm 2) Through this questioning process you liberate the repressed feelings that sustain negative patterns. But that they had to go somewhere became apparent soon enough. Theirs was the position of the Separatist: they believed that the reforms of the Anglican church had not gone far enough, that, although the break with Catholicism in 1535 had moved some way toward the Puritan belief in and idea of religious authority grounded solely in Scripture, by substituting king for pope as the head of the church, England was only recapitulating an unnecessary, corrupt, and even idolatrous order (Gill, 19-21). In one basic respect, the Pilgrims are a logical outcome of the Reformation. In its increasing dissemination of the Bible, the increasing emphasis on it as the basis of spiritual meaning, the subsequently increasing importance of literacy as a mode of religious authority and awareness, a growing individualism was implicit. This individualism may then have easily led to an atomization or dispersion of authority that the monarchy duly feared, and that later generations of Americans could easily label democratization. As a writer in 1921 put it, ‘They accepted Calvin’s rule, that those who are to exercise any public function in the church should be chosen by common voice’ (Wheelwright, vii). pytheroids – We are really at the beginning of a very complicated journey to understand the thousands of substances we are exposed to,’ said Thomas Burke, associate professor at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. The discovery of pyrethroids in most people is especially important, as no one had looked for them in the human body before. Pyrethroids are synthetic versions of natural compounds found in flowers, and they have been considered safer than older pesticides, such as DDT and chlordane, that build up in the environment and have been banned in the United States.  But in high doses, pyrethroids are toxic to the nervous system. They are the second most common class of pesticides that result in poisoning. At low doses, they might alter hormones. The compounds are used in large volumes in farm and household pesticides and are sprayed by public agencies to kill mosquitoes. Pyrethroids ‘were a step forward [from DDT and other banned pesticides], but now we’re beginning to understand that while they don’t persist in the environment, many of us are exposed,’ Burke said. ‘We don’t quite know what those levels mean.’
